Eircom holding a torch for its Special relationship

Eircom has been sponsoring Special Olympics Ireland for 25 years, writes Catherine O’Mahony

From June 9, Irish Special Olympics for intellectually disabled athletes will take place in Limerick. Up to 1,900 Irish participants are set to feature in the 2010 games, backed by around 3,000 volunteers.

Among these will be hundreds of Eircom employees, a number of whom have been involved with the Special Olympics since the telecoms firm first signed up as its sponsor in 1985. Eircom is the event’s premier sponsor, Accenture sponsor s one of the game s’ programmes...
