Eircom exit scheme 'unlikely' to hit targets, say unions

Union officials believe that Eircom, which opened a new redundancy scheme for workers two weeks ago, will not get the numbers it needs to achieve a significant cut in staff.

Union officials believe that Eircom, which opened a new redundancy scheme for workers two weeks ago, will not get the numbers it needs to achieve a significant cut in staff.

The new scheme, which offers five weeks' pay per year of service, inclusive of statutory entitlements, is a reduction on a scheme last year that offered six weeks.
