The European Investment Bank will tomorrow announce a new funding scheme for smaller SMEs in partnership with AIB.

The European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Union's lender for economic development, will tomorrow announce a new funding scheme for smaller SMEs in partnership with AIB in its first Irish disbursement since doubling its share capital last month.

The new programme, which an EIB spokesman described as "significant", is part of a planned €200 million lending arrangement with AIB, but could mark an increase on that number, as the EIB has pledged an additional €60...
