EI investors raise €47m for Irish firms

A total of €47 million in venture capital funding was poured into Irish firms by Enterprise Ireland-backed investors last year, according to statistics released by the business development agency.

A total of €47 million in venture capital funding was poured into Irish firms by Enterprise Ireland-backed investors last year, according to statistics released by the business development agency.

The bulk of the money invested during the year was under the auspices of the 20002006 Seed and Venture Capital Programme, under which €45 million was distributed in 85 separate investments.

This brings to 503 the number of investments made under the 2000-2006 Seed and Venture Capital Scheme....
