Summer's over: it's time to get the finger out and GET creative.

The debate over native advertising was stoked again last month thanks to a segment on John Oliver's Last Week Tonight show that went viral. Oliver's argument against the form carried much merit and the video went viral online, but arguably the most important thing he said has largely been ignored in the weeks since.

Oliver alluded to the issue with online banner advertising being with the painfully low clickthrough rates.
