ECB's Draghi hails continued stabilisation

Banks need to strengthen their resilience and get back to their main task of providing credit, says Mario Draghi.

European Central Bank president Mario Draghi has said both countries and banks should use the present period of stabilisation to make more progress on reforms.

In a speech delivered today he said "we see continued signs of stabilisation in the euro area economy, albeit still at a low level".
