ECB sets Monday as deadline for Cyprus bailout agreement

The ECB has told Cyprus it has until Monday to agree a bailout with the EU and IMF or it would cut off emergency liquidity provision to the country’s banks.

European attitudes to Cyprus were "unacceptable” but the country is willing to remain in the EU and the euro area, said a Cypriot government official.

The European Central Bank has told the government of Cyprus that it has until Monday to agree a bailout with the EU and International Monetary Fund or it would cut off emergency liquidity provision to the country’s banks, the Financial Times has reported.
