ECB said to have purchased Irish bonds

UPDATE: The European Central Bank has purchased Irish bonds today, Bloomberg has reported.

The European Central Bank has purchased Irish and Italian bonds today, Bloomberg has reported.

The wire service cited sources with knowledge of the transactions who declined to be named. A short time ago the yield on Ireland’s 9-year sovereign bond was up 13 basis points to 8.46 per cent.

The yield on Italy’s 10-year bond was up 16 basis points to 6.46 per cent, while the yield on Spain’s 10-year bond was up 12 basis...
