EBU broadcast union backs Greek state TV

The ERT move is the latest chapter in the ongoing policy of austerity in Greece.

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU), which represents all state broadcasters in Europe, has urged the Greek government to reverse its decision to close down the state-owned Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation, or ERT.

The EBU expressed "profound dismay on behalf of Europe’s entire public service media community" at the news.
