EBS to lend €400 million to homebuyers in 2013

EBS plans to lend at least €400 million to customers seeking mortgage finance in the coming year as the latest EBS DKM Affordability Index showed affordability levels had returned to those of the mid 1990s.

For the average first time buyer working couple, the cost of funding a mortgage stood at 11.7 per cent of their joint disposable income at end-2012, EBS said.
