EBS staff may defer strike says union

300 staff at EBS Building Society have said that they will defer their planned one-day strike on Thursday if the company agrees to talks at the Labour Relations Commission.

The planned strike would be the second such stoppage in protest at the withholding of a 13th month payment in December.

300 staff at EBS Building Society have said that they will defer their planned one-day strike on Thursday if the company agrees to talks at the Labour Relations Commission (LRC).

Informal talks took place today and trade union UNITE said in a statement that there is scope for a meaningful engagement using the state industrial relations services.
