EBS hires Finance One for buy-to-let clampdown

EBS has stepped up its plans to tackle delinquent buy-to-let investors, hiring the financial advisory firm Finance One to act as a rent receiver.

EBS has stepped up its plans to tackle delinquent buy-to-let investors, hiring the financial advisory firm Finance One to act as a rent receiver.

EBS, which is a significant player in the buy-to-let market, will pay the financial intermediary a percentage of the rent it collects on the properties. Under the plan, "rent receivers" will bypass landlords and collect the money they are owed from a missed or withheld payment straight from their tenants.
