Sean Dunne expected a lot of things to happen when he spent €375million snapping up hotels in Dublin’s Ballsbridge in 2005.

Following a series of record breaking property acquisitions buying Jurys and the Berkeley Court, the developer expected to transform the area into a high-rise, high-spec citadel to rival the exclusive Knightsbridge district of London.
