Dublin retailers record 8.5% rise in footfall

Retailers in Dublin say that the number of shoppers in visiting their stores rose 8.5 per cent in 2011 compared to 2010.

Footfall in Dublin shopping areas rose 8.1 per cent

Retailers in Dublin say that the number of shoppers in visiting their stores rose 8.5 per cent in 2011 compared to 2010.

The figures were released by Dublin City Business Improvement District (BID).

"Feedback from our members suggests that sales exceeded expectations for the Christmas period and that this was across both the retail and leisure sectors," said Richard Guiney, CEO of Dublin City BID.
