Dublin-based Newbay sold for €42 million, half its 2011 price

The Dublin-based mobile software company, Newbay, has been sold by BlackBerry parent Research In Motion for €41.9 million, just half the price paid for it a year ago.

The Dublin-based mobile software company, Newbay, has been sold by BlackBerry parent Research In Motion for little over half the price paid for it a year ago.

[Newbay](http://www.newbay.com/), which was founded by [Paddy Holahan](http://www.linkedin.com/in/paddyholahan) and has offices in Dublin, London, Seattle, Sydney and Seoul, has been sold for $55.5 million (€41.9 million) in cash to the US-based mobile services company [Synchronoss Technologies](http://www.synchronoss.com/).
