Druid to be renamed the Mick Lally Theatre

Galway's Druid Theatre is changing its name to the Mick Lally Theatre, in a tribute to the late actor who played a key role in the company.

Galway's Druid Theatre is changing its name to the Mick Lally Theatre, in a tribute to the late actor who played a key role in the company from its beginnings in the 1970s until his death three years ago.

Druid's artistic director Garry Hynes, speaking on RTE's Morning Ireland programme, said the name change would be accompanied by a change in structure at the company.
