A woman who tried to smuggle cocaine worth almost quarter of a million euro into Ireland has been refused leave to appeal her ten-year prison sentence.

Interior designer Sophie Malric was jailed by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court in November last year. Malric, 32, with an address at Avenue du Maréchal de Lattre de Tassigny near Toulon, had denied importing cocaine valued at €210,119 on December 18, 2009. She claimed that the judge was unclear in...
