Draghi praises Irish efforts on economy

The Irish government has been an "exemplary model" of compliance with macro-economic discipline, according to the European Central Bank president Mario Draghi.

The Irish government has been an "exemplary model" of compliance with macro-economic discipline, according to the European Central Bank president Mario Draghi.

Addressing a press conference in Frankfurt he said that "despite tensions" he was confident this would continue to be the case.

He said he had "no news" on any further deal on restructuring Irish debt.
