With 65,000 applications available on Apple’s App Store, the iPhone has quickly become a crucial tool for news, games and social network sites. But where does the novice downloader start? Adrian Weckler reports

This is a very smart, Irish made (by developer Vinny Coyne) application that plugs your iPhone into your free web-text account (with Vodafone, O2,Meteor or 3 Ireland).

The result is the ability to send and receive texts for free. It also connects with your voice over internet protocol (VoIP) account to do exactly the same thing.
