Download on-demand programming a hit for Sky

More viewers watched the first episode of new crime drama True Detective via download than on linear broadcast, according to numbers released by Sky.

More viewers watched the first episode of new crime drama True Detective via download than on linear broadcast, according to numbers released by Sky.

The first run on Sky Atlantic drew 208,000 viewers compared to 729,000 via Sky's download services. ''It's hard to predict what will be linear and what's not. Giving customers the choice is the right way to do it, said Alun Webber, Sky's managing director of product design and development.
