The Kilkenny limestone I'm working with is comprised of deceased marine life. It is the sea really, compressed through time, that I am opening up as I work the material.
At times of spiritual connection with the stone, I feel like I am moving through time frozen in all those layers. I've been working with an Iranian travertine for this show which I hadn't worked with before.
It is riddled with fissures, gaps and crevices...
