It has been a funny old spring, with not nearly enough rain for my liking, but what a difference a day (or two) makes!

It has been a funny old spring, with not nearly enough rain for my liking, but what a difference a day (or two) makes! Last week, a dense November-like fog fell over this neck of the woods.

It persisted for 48 hours, accompanied by the softest of rain, and it brought the garden to life.

Now there are whole Persian carpets of aubrietia and saxifragas, self-sown wildflowers, and a marvellous clump of marguerites filling the bare...
