There is no such thing as a risk-free investment and, while the property in question might be a family home, chances are it will be backed by gambling the bank's money.

When listing all of the necessary requirements for successful house-hunting, we tend to think of those requirements in terms of finance and local market knowledge. However, the ability to make a decision is a must for would-be buyers.

When troubleshooting with unsuccessful bidders, the problem can often be traced back to the buyers failing to make a decision, and only recognising the missed opportunity after the event.
