It was a black week for heavy users of the black gold. Oil prices flirted with the once unthinkable level of $90 per barrel, amid fresh jitters sparked by the Turkish government’s show of military strength in northern Iraq.
Commodities traders continued to bid prices up to record highs throughout the week, adding 10 per cent - or almost $9 - to the price of light sweet crude in New York, which touched $90 on Friday.
