Fianna Fáil is ramping up its selection conventions, as concern grows over its strategy to allow high-profile TDs to run in the same constituencies, despite fears of a collapse in party support.

The next election will see strong internal competition between Fianna Fáil TDs to hold onto their seats, particularly in Dublin constituencies.
