Disney shares upgraded on Avengers success

The record box-office debut of Disney's The Avengers has boosted prospects for its shares.

Captain America and Iron Man have analysts who cover Walt Disney scrambling.

David Joyce, a Miller Tabak analyst, yesterday raised his fiscal 2012 profit estimates for Disney, citing the record $207.4 million box-office debut of “Marvel’s The Avengers”.

Three more analysts, Martin Pyykkonen, a Wedge Partnersanalyst, Tuna Amobi of Standard & Poor’s, and Brett Harriss of Gabelli, are considering revisions to profit forecasts for the world’s largest entertainment company, whose second quarter earnings...
