A taskforce is being set up to revive the image of Dublin and rebrand the city to tourists, according to Fáilte Ireland chairman Michael Cawley.

“While it’s flattering to deceive at the moment with its tourism numbers, Dublin is losing out market share wise to comparative cities like Edinburgh, Amsterdam and Barcelona,” said Cawley, a former right-hand man to Ryanair boss Michael O’Leary who was key to boosting that airline’s passenger numbers.
