Executive directors are getting 36 times more in pension contributions than other employees, according to an ESRI report.
The report, which was carried out by Trinity College business professor Gerry Hughes, said that tax reliefs on pensions contributions were €2.7 billion in 2009. It examined the pension arrangements in 2009 of about 150 executive directors in Irish firms and found that the average annual employer pension contribution for directors was €100,000 compared to €2,700 for other staff.
