Paul Appleby, the Director of Corporate Enforcement, has today announced his decision to retire at the end of February.

Paul Appleby, the Director of Corporate Enforcement, has today announced his decision to retire at the end of February.

In a lengthy statement, Appleby said he had discussed his plans with Jobs and Enterprise Minister Richard Bruton and said his office's ongoing investigation into Anglo Irish Bank would not be affected.

He said he also advised the Minister that if his assistance was required after retirement, he would make himself available.
