Digital is pointing the way forward

Digital media is doing the business when it comes to jobs, but employers are reporting difficulties in finding the right skills, writes Linda Daly

Digital media has risen to prominence in recent years as an increasingly high-profile contributor to Ireland’s so-called smart economy and a valuable source of job creation.

While other sectors continue to struggle, digital media is thriving, having grown by 6 per cent last year.

The IDA, the main agency with responsibility for foreign direct investment (FDI) in Ireland, is backing the digital trend.
