An Italian fraudster who acted as a lawyer for convicted drug dealer John Gilligan has been convicted of a series of deception charges in London.

Giovanni di Stefano - known as "the devil's advocate" for his readiness to take on difficult cases - claimed to be a lawyer, despite not being qualified in Britain or Italy.
