Development land sector mirrors Ireland's two-tier housing market

Local authorities are said to be making it difficult to get planning for zoned lands further out from villages, writes Donal Buckley.

A fresh test of the Dublin residential sites market will arise on Wednesday with the auction of a 0.57 acre site at Grove Avenue, Blackrock, Co Dublin, and a 0.59 acre site at Strand Road in Bray, Co Wicklow. Auctions have become an increasingly popular way of selling such sites although two recent site auctions saw a few of the lots fail to sell under the hammer.
