Builders of exclusive new developments in Dun Laoghaire Rathdown will be forced to provide social housing as part of their developments from July.

Until now, developers have been able to pay a levy to councils instead of fulfilling their liabilities under the 2000 Planning Act.

But now the county manager of Dun Laoghaire Rathdown has warned that he will not issue letters of compliance to housing developers from July 1, unless they provide social and affordable...
