The billionaire Irish financier Dermot Desmond is investing in a Dublin start-up that aims to revolutionise the music industry by allowing musicians to interact and record virtually.

Desmond's investment vehicle IIU is leading a €5 million funding round for WholeWorldBand, a music platform that was established in 2011 by the acclaimed music producer Kevin Godley.
