The first salvo has been fired in a war between two luxury retailers - Brown Thomas on Grafton Street in Dublin and Harvey Nichols, which will open in Dundrum later this year.

Brown Thomas has asked its suppliers to agree not to supply luxury goods to rival stores in advance of Harvey Nichols opening in the new Dundrum centre in south Dublin.
