Headline deposits fell during August by about €300 million, or 0.2 per cent, due to exchange rate movements, the Department of Finance said today.
Total deposits at the covered banks were stable through August at €154 billion and this demonstrated “continued depositor confidence in the strength of the banking system following its successful recapitalisation last year,” the department said.
