The budget for the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform has increased by 39 per cent or €11.5m in 2012, Minister Brendan Howlin has revealed.
The increased expenditure is required to enable the Department to “meet its commitment to formulate and promote policies which drive efficiency, effectiveness and reform across the public service and to manage public expenditure at more sustainable levels”, the Minister told the Select Committee on Finance, Public Service and Reform.
