The Department of Finance has attacked as ‘‘pathetic and inaccurate’’ reports in the London press that finance minister Brian Lenihan was heckled and ridiculed on a conference call with investors last week.

The Department of Finance has attacked as ‘‘pathetic and inaccurate’’ reports in the London press that finance minister Brian Lenihan was heckled and ridiculed on a conference call with investors last week.

The Daily Telegraph yesterday reported that the call - where Lenihan spoke to an audience of hundreds of investors - ‘‘descended into farce’’ and had to be pulled.
