Ireland's high-tech achievers are well-placed to excel on the world stage, writes Linda Daly

Achieving a place on Deloitte's Fast 50 listing is a major boon for companies looking to expand overseas, according to Maurice Mortell, managing director of Telecity Ireland.

Mortell's Data Electronics ranked number one on the listing in 2005 - an achievement he described as a "great calling card" for the firm, which was acquired last August by British group Telecity for €99.6 million.
