Students labour long and hard to obtain a third-level qualification, but most are then faced with internships, unemployment or emigration, writes Leanna Byrne.

The government has a lot to be happy about on the jobs front: rates of unemployment are now at their lowest since April 2009. That said, there is little cause for celebration if you're in the 20-24 age group.
