Elan is to decide within months whether to proceed with building a $500 million biologics manufacturing plant in Ireland.

Kelly Martin, chief executive of Elan, told The Sunday Business Post that the final decision would be taken before the end of the year and would ultimately depend on the company’s drug pipeline.

Martin said if Elan went ahead with the investment, it would be in Ireland. ‘‘You need to own production facilities,” he said...
