Ikon Semiconductor secures €800,000 investment

Dublin and Galway-based Ikon Semiconductor is to increase its workforce from five to 15 staff this year, on the back of an €800,000 investment led by Kernel Capital in 2011.

The semiconductor firm received a €400,000 investment in September from the Bank of Ireland Seed and Early Stage Equity Fund managed by Kernel Capital, with the remainder of the funds provided by Simple.ie Green BES Fund, Enterprise Ireland and private investors.
