Deal seen likely on promissory notes, says report

A government source has told the Dow Jones newswire and the Wall Street Journal that he is confident that a deal can be done to reduce the cost burden of repayments on promissory notes, it was reported today.

A government source has told the Dow Jones newswire and the Wall Street Journal that he is confident that a deal can be done to reduce the cost burden of repayments on promissory notes, it was reported today.

Dow Jones journalist Eamon Quinn, speaking on RTE's Morning Ireland programme, said the unnamed official had said considerable progress had been made toward a deal on reducing the cost of this debt.
