The country's largest council is facing a legal bill of up to €300,000 after its failed challenge to the political standards watchdog.

Dublin City Council is now considering an appeal to the Supreme Court even though the High Court found last month that it had no legal standing to take the case against the Standards in Public Office Commission (Sipo).
