UPDATE: Danske Bank Ireland said it will halt the sale of personal and business banking products to new customers with immediate effect.

Danske's Irish arm posted a pretax loss of €31.4 million in the last nine months.

Danske Bank Ireland said it will halt the sale of personal and business banking products to new customers with immediate effect.

The move will result in 150 compulsory redundancies, according to the finance trade union, IBOA. The move follows the announcement last week that Dutch owned ACC would halt its deposit and current account business in the Irish market, with the loss of 180 jobs.
