Kfar Maimon last week became the headquarters for protesters opposed to the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.
They have taken to the streets in massive numbers in recent months.
Thousands of protesters wearing orange gathered at a point in the small southern Israeli town less than 30 kilometres from the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, despite the fact that the government banned the major march against the disengagement plan.
