A damaged part on a Ryanair aircraft caused it to divert on a flight from Holland to Spain in 2010.
An investigation subsequently caused the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to warn that "the condition if not corrected could result in a loss of aircraft control and structural integrity."
The manufacturer subsequently made changes to the production process. A Ryanair spokesman said that the recommended changes had been made to all the airline's planes.
