Customs reports rise in seizures

More than one million illegal pills have been seized in the country since the start of the year, according to the Revenue Customs Service.

More than one million illegal pills have been seized in the country since the start of the year, according to the Revenue Customs Service.

This is double the number of such tablets seized in the country for the same period in 2008. A recent operation, codenamed Pangea, resulted in a haul of 262,000 pills during one week alone.

The joint operation, in cooperation with 45 other countries, resulted in a one-million pill haul in total that week.
