Currency fluctuations hit SoftCo profits

SoftCo, the software firm headed by businesswoman Susan Spence, recorded reduced profits of €2 million last year after being hit by currency fluctuations.

SoftCo, the software firm headed by businesswoman Susan Spence, recorded reduced profits of €2 million last year after being hit by currency fluctuations.

The company made a foreign exchange loss of almost €816,000, compared with a profit of nearly €332,000 on foreign exchange in 2007, according to new accounts for the Dublin-incorporated company.

While the firm’s operating profit was down from €3.2million in 2007, a dividend of almost €200,000 was approved for shareholders.
