CRM: Arrival of cloud heralds new dawn

As with many other sectors, the cloud is beginning to have a major impact on CRM software, writes Dermot Corrigan.

Cloud solutions, hosted and managed by a provider and then accessed remotely by users on their PC, laptop, tablet or phone, are making huge inroads into many IT markets, as businesses grasp the efficiency, cost and flexibility benefits such solutions can often provide.

The tipping point in the customer relationship management space has been passed and more cloud solutions than traditional 'on premise' products are now being sold, said Jamie Anderson, CRM specialist at SAP.
